In 2019, Fahad was assigned as the Southern Area Oil Operations General Manager, where he manages more than 7 million barrels of Oil Production from the giant fields of Ghawar, Abqaiq, Khurais and Shaybah.

Fahad spent most of his early career in the Oil Producing Fields where he contributed to the commissioning and start-up of Marjan Field and Zuluf Fields, which comprise a total of 750,000 barrels of oil a day. 

Shortly after Fahad worked as the Assistant to the Producing Vice President before he was assigned as the Leader of the Shaybah Producing Expansion Project.

Upon the successful startup of the Shaybah Expansion Project, Fahad was then assigned as Shaybah Field Producing Manager from 2011 to 2014.

In 2014, Fahad had a career shift to move to the International Operation Organization and became Aramco Oversees Company President which handles Saudi Aramco Operations in the European region. 

In 2017, he was appointed as the Senior Advisor and the Director General of His Excellency Khalid Al-Falih Office (Minister of Energy and Saudi Aramco Chairman).

Fahad Al-AbdulKareem has a Mechanical Engineering Degree from King Fahad Petroleum & Minerals University, Saudi Arabia (1992).
