Biography

Roland Albustin holds a degree in M.Eng. in Petroleum Engineering. He studied at the Montan University in Leoben, Austria and on the Colorado School of Mines, US.

He started his career 2001 in OMV as process engineer in the Facilities Engineering Department where he could also use his knowledge as electrical engineer from previous experience.

In OMV he developed into several different positions, e.g. project coordinator, production engineer, project manager etc… in Austria, Tunisia, Yemen and Dubai. He got deep insight as he has worked in several fields from concept engineering and project management to project assurance. He also gained experience in the field when he was involved in petroleum technology operations and project execution.

Familiar with problems of well completion, artificial lift systems, flow assurance and facility design he decided three years ago to move to the New Technology Department in the Water Treatment Technology Group ETT-W. In this position, he became technical lead of the polymer plant in Gänserndorf, Austria. In this function, he conducted several tests on water filtration technologies to address injectivity issues.
